I joined SIRIS to contribute with my past experience to add value and vision to the projects for higher education and research.
Currently, I am supporting the “la Caixa” Foundation designing the novel PhD Training Programme and coordinating its implementation.
I am mainly interested in Deep Learning,Pattern Recognition and Outlier Detection.
I’m a physicist with a PhD in complex systems and a specialisation in machine learning. As a data scientist at SIRIS, I focus on research portfolio analysis and contextualisation, combining analytics and visualisation of data from a wealth of sources in order to derive insights to support the decision making process of research institutions and funding agencies.
A background of more than 20 years in the administrative and management area, in different sectors, has given me the professionalism and skills to develop different tasks within the company. In charge of the accounting and office management, my work in SIRIS allows me to develop all the acquired skills and to implement new ones, both in the administrative field and at a collaborative level with the Human Resources unit.
With a strong background in Economics, I am interested in using my quali-quantitative skills to analyse data, draw insights, explore the implications and communicate the findings. Working at SIRIS as an junior consultant gives me the chance to develop a more critical and strategic thinking.
With 15+ years of experience in research grants, projects management and the setting up of institutional programs in research at European and national level, I arrived at SIRIS after working in several HE&R institutions in Italy, France and Spain and at the European Commission in DG RTD.
I have broad experience of funding programs for research and gained international experience in the European research policies, and the functioning of the national research systems of France and Spain. I have been involved in the management of large European research projects and I am author of 2 winning proposals for MSC CO-FUND Postdoctoral fellows programs, one of which I also coordinated.
I worked as an economist for 10 years and gained insights into public policy and a great number of industries and sectors, at a global level. The higher education and research landscape is by far one of the most interesting albeit challenging : the academic environment is constantly changing and, at Siris, I am happy to be part of a motivated team that is on a purposeful mission to help higher education & research institutions address a wide range of strategic issues. I did my undergraduate studies in Japan and graduate studies in France and Spain. I hope to bank on all these experiences in my mission at Siris.
PhD in the Life Sciences and Former PI with 15+ yrs experience in Academia in leading institutions both in Europe and the USA; Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) Board Member; Business Development experience in Healthtech. Long standing interest in science policy and innovation issues and on how these can intersect and actors work together, practically and pragmatically, for the achievement of challenges and goals in and with society.
I am an Industrial Engineer with a double master degree on Energy Management and Sustainability, recently graduated from an MBA at Collège des Ingénieurs (Paris). My ultimate goal is to help drive policies that will tackle the current energy and climate crisis, naturally taking a science-based approach but also considering all the socio-humanitarian aspects of this transition. Throughout my career I have been strongly involved in educational endeavours, for example by teaching children in schools about Climate Change and its implications through the association Sustainability by Education.
I joined SIRIS with a background of five year experience in academic research and a PhD in Physics. My main interest is getting insights from data and translating them into actionable knowledge, thus bridging quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Being part of SIRIS is a great opportunity for me to engage in topics such as research and innovation policies, regional development, social impact, and to explore connections between them.
I have a degree in theoretical physics from the University of Barcelona and a master’s degree in physics of complex systems from the University of Balearic Islands. My interests are in the application of numerical methodologies and frameworks to social challenges that modern societies are facing.
In Siris I’m in the team of Data Analytics as Junior Data Scientist exploring NLP techniques and
machine and deep learning methodologies for scientific portfolios text mining.
